Meet the Ministry Team

Adam Draycott

- Senior Minister -

Adam grew up in Sydney’s west.  Before entering Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) he worked for 15 years in various property-related roles, including property valuation in central Victoria.  Upon graduating from SMBC, Adam was ordained and moved to Gunnedah where he served as an assistant between 2007 and 2009.  He became the Vicar of Barraba in 2010 and served there until the beginning of 2015.  It was during this period that he also served as the Diocesan Youth Encourager.  In early 2015 he was inducted as the Vicar of the Inverell Parish.

Adam is married to Tanya and they have two children.  He loves bushwalking with his family, listening to Australian rock music, driving his ute and sometimes chasing vermin. He loves reading the Bible with people and seeing people’s lives changed, as we grow together in our understanding of who Jesus is, how Jesus speaks to who we are, and how he meets our every need.

Matt Stones

- Assistant Minister -

Matt is a country guy through and through, having been raised on his family’s farm just outside of Gunnedah. He worked locally as an engineering draftsman for 7 years while taking up many opportunities to serve in his local church. Eventually, he was challenged to consider the possibility of full-time gospel ministry. Trusting God, he resigned from his position to undertake a ministry apprenticeship, where he loved being able to speak about Jesus and teach the Bible on a daily basis. Following his two-year apprenticeship, he and his growing family took a big step of faith, relocating to Newtown for 3 years where he studied at Moore Theological College. Having now returned to country NSW, he is keen to help introduce people to Jesus and see them grow in their faith.

Matt is married to Dee, and together they have three children, Poppy, Boaz and Knox. He loves exploring new places with his family, playing touch footy, cycling, tinkering with cars and computers, as well as cheering on the mighty Dragons. Most of all, he loves seeing people be blown away by God’s love as they encounter Jesus.

David Thomas

- Honorary Assistant Minister -

David grew up in Hornsby, Sydney.  He worked in the public sector in the water industry for nearly 40 years in various locations in country NSW. In order to be to be better equipped in serving the local church, David attended Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) in 2004 . Upon graduating, he returned to his role in the public service at Forbes and then Tamworth.

David moved to Inverell in Spring 2023. He retired early in January 2024 to serve as a lay ministry worker at Inverell Anglican and was then deaconed in October 2024.

David is married to Anita. They have two married children and two grandchildren.  He loves walking, playing golf, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family. He wants people to know God’s love as they hear and read about Jesus in the Bible.
